My enthusiasm for Park Place is deeply personal. A major part of it comes from the opportunity to work alongside Mark Parkinson, whose leadership and vision have shaped the long-term care profession for decades. Working with Mark on this new venture is both a privilege and a masterclass in what it means to lead with clarity, conviction, and purpose. His guidance has been instrumental in shaping not just the direction of Park Place, but the standard it aims to set for the entire field.

But my excitement goes beyond that. Park Place is more than a project – it is a vision. It’s the first time our field has a platform designed not simply to report on what’s happening, but to shape how we understand it, talk about it, and act on it. It’s a place where leadership meets insight, where policy connects to practice, and where the story of long-term care is told by the people who live it every day.

This is not another news outlet. Park Place is a curated platform that blends the authority of trusted voices with the breadth of topics our industry demands. It is anchored by Mark Parkinson’s leadership and enriched by the expertise of Marc Zimmet, whose industry acumen and commitment to progress have been invaluable in bringing this to life. Together with a roster of accomplished contributors – including JJ Rabinowich, Glenn Van Ekeren, Anne Tumlinson, Steven Littlehale, and many more to come – Park Place delivers unmatched perspective and depth.

The platform’s strength comes not only from its people but from its purpose. Park Place is here to be the industry’s roadmap, its educator, its pulse. It will deliver market overviews that guide real-world decisions, Capitol Hill perspectives that cut through the noise, leadership insights that inspire action, and moments of levity that remind us why we do this work in the first place.

I am especially proud of the support we’ve received from our launch sponsor, Omnicare, a CVS Health company. We are excited to have a supporter whose reputation and reach match our ambition. Their belief in this platform is a sign that Park Place has the potential to move the needle for our entire profession.

For too long, the story of long-term care has been told from the outside in – filtered through narratives that miss the depth, the complexity, and the humanity of our work. Park Place exists to change that, it is here to give our industry the voice, the platform, and the respect it has always deserved.

We have a great deal of work ahead of us. But for the first time, we have a place built to help us do it – a place to learn, to share, to lead, and to move forward together.

Park Place is hosted on zPAX – the Post-Acute eXchange, Zimmet Healthcare’s technology platform – accessible at myzPAX.com.
